Our Impact

At ELNOR, we constantly think about the impact of our work and how we can better serve more students. Since beginning lessons with ELNOR, our students have:

  • Matriculated into the Central European University’s programs to prepare refugee students for masters degrees
  • Joined ELNOR’s staff to work on education projects
  • Worked with international organizations such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM)
  • Expressed how their English skills have increased their confidence, and their interview preparation and IELTS exams have opened up professional opportunities

Monitoring and Evaluation Reports

This report examines the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) program and Professional Development Program (PDP) offered by ELNOR. In order to measure impact, increase effectiveness and compile lessons learned from the first year, we deployed a mixed methodological approach, comprising of interviews and surveys, with students from both programs.

This research examined student satisfaction and engagement across English classes from pre-A1 to IELTS levels from the fall of 2024 and early winter 2025. An online survey, offered in seven languages and completed by 36 students, combined qualitative and quantitative questions. Key findings included a preference for morning classes, more games, increased conversation time, longer lessons, and additional self-study materials.

In Spring of 2023, ELNOR commissioned a Monitoring and Evaluation report to assess the effectiveness of our program and gather direct feedback from our students. Key findings highlighted a strong desire for more classes per week and more independent practice assignments.
